Mary MacKillop was a champion for the poor. With the Canonisation of Mary MacKillop coinciding with the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17 this year, it is an especially timely reminder to reflect on the difference we can make to global poverty. “Never see a need without doing something about it”. This is Mary MacKillop’s adage that motivated her to act against injustices and is one that resonates deeply with us at Caritas Australia.
