Western Australia lead Australians to Be More

Last weekend the Be More team met 11 inspiring and enthusiastic young people from across Western Australia – our new Caritas Be More Ambassadors. It was a fantastic and memorable weekend – which enabled the ambassadors to discover the mission and work of Caritas Australia , learn about effective development, campaigning and event planning, and exchange ideas in order to formulate plans for the 2010 Be More Weekend and other activities throughout the year.

This is a trial program to engage and empower young people (18–30 years) to promote and advocate for the work of Caritas through the Be More Challenge. The 11 ambassadors have committed to doing this for the next 12 months with the support of the Be More team, WA Caritas staff and volunteers. Each ambassador has put together their own plan of what they hope to achieve in the next 12 months which includes running two events for Caritas (one for the Be More Weekend) in their local area.

It is our hope that we will be able to run a similar trial in other states over the coming year.
