In true Mary MacKillop spirit, students of St Joseph’s Nundah, Queensland, reached out a helping hand and helping heart for the people of Haiti by raising funds to assist Caritas in their relief efforts. The children had been discussing the concept of UBUNTU which means “We are who are we are, because of other people”. By living the philosophy of UBUNTU, the St Joseph’s school family reflect the Josephite tradition and Mary MacKillop’s words, that we might “seek first the poorest and neglected parts of God’s vineyard”.
They managed to raise $314 for Caritas Australia's Haiti Emergency Response Appeal - for which we extend our heartfelt thanks.
