A non-government international aid and development organisation, Caritas Australia assists over 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific, as well as Indigenous Australia. In fact, we are part of Caritas Internationalis which works in over 200 countries and territories!

Alongside our international partners, we aim to address the causes of poverty and bring about long-term change. We support programs for human development and self-reliance, such as improving health, overcoming illiteracy, reducing environmental damage, conserving cultural identity and providing training for better agricultural practices.

We also provide life-giving aid like food, water and humanitarian assistance. As you’re probably aware, our largest appeal at the moment is the East Africa Crisis Appeal. Our ongoing commitment to the Horn of Africa is dependent upon supporters and donors. And so far we’ve helped thousands of people affected by the drought, but we need to help even more.
