Pray 4 Providence

From 30 September – 24 December 2011 the Steadfast Community is making a commitment of 1-2 hours praying for providence. But what does this word mean? Well, it has a number of different meanings, but essentially it’s about opening your heart and mind to those who have less.

1. The foreseeing care and guidance of God or nature over the creatures of the earth.
2. God, especially when conceived as omnisciently directing the universe and the affairs of humankind with wise benevolence.
3. A manifestation of divine care or direction.
4. Providentor prudent management of resources; prudence.
5. Foresight; provident care.

Their fundraising team, which anyone can join, is simply using the fruit of prayer as their fundraiser. It’s easy to do and the only ask is that people commit at least an hour of their time to prayer (until 24 December 2011) in the hope that people around the world open their hearts and donate.

The goal? $50,000 for the people of East Africa via Caritas Australia. So far they’ve raised $2,364.24 – and they need your help for more.
