Thank you St Therese Primary School!

A big thank you to St Therese Primary School at Mascot for raising an amazing $34,567.90 for the people of East Africa through their Famine Relief Appeal.

Their original goal of $10,000 was reached within 10 weeks, so they increased it to $25,000 and now they’ve set a new goal of $50,000!

The school’s aim is to raise funds and awareness among the students and their extended community so that the scale of East African Food Crisis might be better understood.

St Therese is encouraging the children to trade some of their ‘wants’ to help the poorest of the poor. In this way, they can teach the students about empathy, compassion and bringing about positive change by their actions.

Children have raised funds in many different ways including lemonade stands, cake stalls, hair braiding and second hand stalls. So now they are asking the wider community, particularly larger companies and corporations, to open their hearts to the African people.
